ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Enters registration information into Voter Registration System from electronic and paper applications; reviews, maintains and edits voter registration records, (i.
e.
, name, address, party); scans and indexes documents, and checks for accuracy.
Reviews records and related documentation to verify accuracy and completeness; corrects data entry errors where applicable.
Reviews voter registrations for correct address and voting precinct assignments.
Performs follow-up on questioned registrations, returned and undelivered mail, and insufficient voter information.
Researches historical information on voters.
Processes and verifies signatures for candidate petitions, initiative petitions and Vote-by-Mail ballots.
Performs administrative support (i.
e.
, greeting the public, customer support, filing, and multi-line telephone system).
Assists in the List Maintenance programs for the voter registration database.
During elections, assists with Notice of Elections (NOE) mailers and data entry of returned NOEs; data entry of Vote-by-Mail requests; inventory and security of ballots; editing; verification of signatures and validity of ballots; Early Voting; and daily accounting of ballots.
Responds to concerns and inquiries concerning voter related matters; provides resolution, information or referral.
Maintains office computer materials; refers questions concerning computer and software problems to the Director of Voter Registration or county Tech Support.
Assists in maintaining the office supplies inventory.
Must be able to meet work schedule, including required overtime and intervals during which no annual leave time may be approved.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE Education, Training, and
Experience:
High school diploma or GED supplemented by a minimum six (6) months of experience in office support functions, to include direct customer contact, problem solving, keyboard skills, multi-lined telephones, and broad knowledge of office equipment in clerical or office support function; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Must be registered to vote.
Ability to speak and write Spanish is preferred.
Licenses and/or Certifications:
May require a valid driver license.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR STANDARDS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Physical Requirements:
Must be able to operate a variety of machines and equipment including computer, office equipment, telephone, etc.
Must be able to exert 10 to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Requires some bending, twisting and stooping.
Physical demands are essentially those of sedentary work.
Language Ability:
Requires the ability to read a variety of moderately complex technical data, policy and procedure manuals, codes, professional journals, etc.
Requires the ability to prepare forms and reports using prescribed formats, and adhering to all rules of grammar, spelling, diction and punctuation.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
